    Maintenance Technician

    Position Title:Maintenance Technician 1st Shift

    Wage: $28.00+/hour

    Shift: 1st

    Hours: 7:00am-3:00pm


    QPS Employment Group has a great opportunity available for an Advanced Maintenance Tech in Fairfield, IA. This is a direct hire, 1st shift position.

    Maintenance Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    - Perform repairs or maintenance work to ensure optimal performance and minimize production downtime, including routine preventative maintenance.

    - Maintains a safe and organized work environment in compliance with Corporate/OSHA safety standards and performs all work while adhering to all safety regulations and guidelines. and machinery.

    - Organizes and maintains the maintenance cage and spare parts inventory.

    - Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.

    - Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.

    - Diagnoses problems, replaces or repairs parts, tests, and adjusts.

    - Uses a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment, including forklifts, scissor lifts and boom lifts in performing duties.

    - Detects faulty operations, defective material, and report those and any unusual situations to supervisor or management.

    - Assists with new projects including fabrication and installation of piping, conduit and cables.

    - Performs programming and troubleshooting for automated equipment including PLCs, HMIs and robots to resolve performance issues.

    - Accurately document changes and updates to equipment.

    - Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic problems with equipment.

    - Collaborates with other members of the team to ensure that deadlines are met, while minimizing machine down-time.

    - Consistently abides by established safety rules, procedures, and regulations including wearing required safety equipment such as safety shoes and glasses.

    - Maintains a clean and organized work environment.

    - Identifies and reports issues to supervisor or manager.

    - Works effectively with co-workers and supervisors, sharing knowledge, resources, and experience to achieve goals in a timely fashion, while promoting respect, communication, and teamwork.

    - Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    - Participate in a rotating on call schedule to cover overnight and weekend emergency repairs as needed.

    Maintenance Technician Requirements:

    - Fluent in PLC programming-both interpreting and building new programs.

    - Adaptable to other brands of equipment as needed.

    - Familiar with ANSI and OSHA safety requirements.

    - The ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and solve complex electrical issues.

    - The ability to identify and differentiate numerous parts, pieces, components, and wires and understand their functions and interactions.

    - The ability to work efficiently and prioritize tasks is important to minimize machine and equipment downtime.

    - Good verbal and written communication skills are important to work effectively with other departments and team members.

    - The ability to follow step by step standard procedures based on the manufacturers recommendations and trade recommendations and protocols.

    - The ability to count, read, calculate, and use various measures in the execution of the job.

    - The ability to follow safety procedures and guidelines when using tools and equipment is important to maintain a safe work environment.

    - Reliability and consistency of attendance, punctuality, and completion of assigned tasks according to established standards and expectations with little supervision.

    - Proficiency in using software and Microsoft Office applications, including software for maintenance tracking and reporting, as well as computer diagnostic equipment.

    - An associates degree, or equivalent work experience preferred.

    - Advanced knowledge working with automated PCL based equipment and processes preferred.
