    Description

    Memorial Hospital Central and North's Department of Radiation Oncology, located in Colorado Springs, is a key part of UCHealth's Cancer Service Line. Radiation treatments use cutting-edge technology to treat cancer. A full complement of skilled and compassionate staff comprise the Radiation Oncology team.

    This Medical Dosimetrist position will serve as a key member of our radiation oncology planning team, working with physicians to design radiation treatment plans to deliver precise levels of radiation doses. Our team of Medical Dosimetrists work 10 hours shifts in a hybrid model of working in the clinic (25%) and working from home (75%).

    Work Schedule:1.0/80hrs pp - Full Time - Days

    Summary:

    Develops and assists with the administration of radiation therapy treatment plans in collaboration with the medical physicist and radiation oncologist.

    Responsibilities:

    • Designs a treatment plan to deliver a prescribed radiation dose and field to a defined tumor volume.
    • Assists with or performs the application of specific methods of dosimetry, including intracavitary and interstitial brachytherapy procedures.
    • Assists with or performs the fabrication of beam modifying devices and immobilization devices.
    • Provides technical support for radiation protection procedures and qualitative machine calibrations of the radiation oncology equipment.

    Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Dosimetry program, or Certified as a Medical Dosimitrist.
    • Required Licensure/Certification: Eligible for certification as a Medical Dosimetrist by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board (MDCB), within 12 months of hire. State licensure if required by law.

    The pay range for this position is: $54.31 - $81.47 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
