The Project Engineer position is responsible for providing engineering support for the Union Bridge cement plant so that the plant will operate safely and efficiently. This position is based out of Union Bridge, MD
What you will get to do:
- Provide engineering, design, & drafting as needed to effectively solve operational problems and improve existing performance.
- Act as project manager for various capital projects. This includes budgeting, bidding, field supervision of both contractor & plant staff, and start-up.
- Responsible for developing and maintaining the plant CapEx budget.
- Maintain and coordinate plant drawing files so that they are accurate and readily accessible to plant and corporate staff.
- Maintain, effectively operate, and improve the utilities, buildings, roads, grounds, HVAC, and plant security.
- Act as coordinator for property insurance matters, assist with insurance inspections, take needed remedial actions, & prepare required records & reports.
- Act as coordinator for asset audits for corporate
- Work with the department heads to develop 1 yr, 3 yr and 5 yr CapEx budgets
- Develop and submit for approval all CapEx AFEs
- Provide assistance and information to HTC as needed.
- Provide engineering and specifications as needed to assist in the purchase of equipment.
- Work together effectively with other members of plant management to create a well-functioning management team.
Who we are looking for:
- B.S. degree in an engineering discipline
- Experience in project management and associated planning tools
- 5 years or more experience in cement industry or other heavy industry
- Knowledge of and experience with utilities including water systems, compressed air systems, sewage systems and fire protection.
- Demonstrated work experience with PCs, CAD, and engineering software
- Good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to work in a total quality environment
- SAP knowledge
- Develop a working knowledge of the plant and operations.
