    Senior Risk Management Analyst

    The Senior Risk Management Analyst is responsible for utilities and commodity, economic, and quantitative research/analysis to support the strategies and risk management operations for Aspire Bakeries commodity and energy management needs. This role will develop and enhance utilities & commodity risk management tools and models that allow for more effective strategy development and execution on futures/options markets & basis risks. This will play a key role in managing risk for co-manufacturing suppliers and financial hedging. The position has high growth potential over time and is strategically important to delivering Procurements cost of goods budgets within stated annual goals/objectives and is critical to the price stability of finished foods.

    Responsibilities:

    • Be involved in the utilities and commodities procurement, analysis, and hedging of all physical and financial commodities, maximizing savings through risk management.
    • Manage/Monitor risk and hedges for all commodity spends for all North American facilities of Aspire Bakeries
    • Be the point person for basic risk analysis for all categories and coverages as needed.
    • Support the business units through the development of position reports, PPV models, and price forecasting tools.
    • Responsible for system and database development, and the maintenance of audit traceable transaction records used in executing energy & commodity trades.
    • Regularly review the impact of economic, trade flow, and market movements, assessing trends and providing insights to the Procurement team and business partners on underlying cost drivers.
    • Create regular commodity reports to monitor market dynamics and potential price impacts to various categories.
    • Contribute to the execution and monitoring of energy & commodity risk management strategies.
    • Develop presentation tools to be used in the monthly Commodity Price Risk meetings and customer communication.
    • Consolidate views on a variety of commodity markets for strategic category managers, procurement leadership, business unit leaders, and external customers.
    • Train and coach team members necessary for the performance of duties and responsibilities.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, Engineering or scientific discipline, Masters/MBA preferred.
    • At least 3 years of experience in commodity risk management, hedging, market analysis, knowledge of derivatives, applied research, or modeling with an understanding of econometric techniques.
    • Demonstrate working knowledge and experience of commodity and energy hedging within the food and agriculture, energy, or related industries.
    • Advanced knowledge in energy, agriculture, softs, metals, and other commodity markets is a plus.
    • Strong analytical, business process analysis, and problem-solving capabilities
    • Strong knowledge of Excel/VBA-based coding, and SAP knowledge will be added value
    • Persuasion and savvy negotiation skills
    • Ability to manage conflict and ambiguity

    Salary Range: $80,000 - $85,000

    This position will be located at our Los Angeles or Chicago office or at one of our U.S. bakeries. This is not a 100% remote position.
