- UT Health East Texas Rehabilitation Center includes a 48-bed inpatient hospital, 14 outpatient therapy clinics, 11 cardiopulmonary rehabilitation clinics and nine Olympic fitness centers, with access to some of the most advanced therapy techniques and care available.

Responsibilities- The Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant shall be responsible for providing, under the direction of licensed Physical Therapist, a full range of age appropriate therapeutic interventions in an interdisciplinary environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards.
- Provides age appropriate treatment according to established goals on the treatment plan and assists the supervising Physical Therapist in reassessing patient's functional status when goals are met or there is a change in patient's condition.
- Instructs/educates patients/families in appropriate activities, home programs and referral to community resources utilizing both verbal and written programs.
- Documents progress in the medical record and maintains patient records as required.
- Communicates with patients, families and all health care professionals required to provide comprehensive interdisciplinary care.
- Maintains skills and knowledge through training and continuing education to provide expected standards of care. Participates in internal and external activities designed to promote awareness of rehabilitation and other health related subjects.
QualificationsJob Requirements:
- Graduate of a PTO approved Associates degree program
- 3-5 years experience preferred in acute or outpatient setting
- Current professional license active and valid in the State of Texas.
