Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a Registered Nurse Surgical Intermediate for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What you will do in this role:

• You are responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
• You are responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Surgical Intermediate/ General Surgery Units and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
• You will participate in activities to plan, measure, assess and improve the quality of patient care.
• You will respond to Code Blue and implements life-saving measures.
• You will monitor special drugs.
• You will assess patients in an ongoing manner, per protocol.
• You will assist physicians with procedures, as needed.
• You will assume the responsibility of charging the unit, as needed.
• You will be responsible for assessment of patient with telemetry monitoring.
• You will be responsible for maintaining customer friendly atmosphere.
• You will draw blood from venous lines.
• You will model and reinforce behavior consistent with goals for teaching the patient, communicate patient status to appropriate member of the healthcare team, and provide support to the family, as needed.
• You will scan supplies from P.O.U. area.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Registered Nurse Diploma
