Pay: $18.27 per hour

The City of Tulsa isseeking a Veterinary Assistant to join theteam and contribute to the health and well-being of animals in the City's programs.

Essential Tasks:

• Provide regular and preventive health care for various species.

• Support major surgical and postmortem studies, ensuring compliance with health regulations.

• Maintain the cleanliness of the animal hospital facility.

• Prepare and maintain veterinary and laboratory records.

• Monitor materials and supplies, alerting the supervisor of needed replacements.

• Contribute to educational and cooperative programs.

• Respond to emergency calls on a twenty-four-hour basis.
  
  

• High school graduation or GED.
• 20 college hours from an AVMA-accredited program in veterinary technology.
• One year of experience in a veterinary environment or equivalent.

• Knowledge of veterinary technology principles and practices.
• Proficient in laboratory procedures.
• Familiarity with domestic and/or exotic animals.
• Ability to conduct laboratory testing and maintain records.

• Arm and hand steadiness for equipment operation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
