Job Description
This internship will be an opportunity to learn our approach to account management, customer service, and how technical expertise is used to solve problems for customers and develop business within a union manufacturer specializing in building machinery for the HVAC industry.
Tasks will include but are not limited to assisting the Sales Team with data management, updating templates, quoting, engineer assistance, and help develop and implement processes to support streamlining and efficiency.
During the internship you will be exposed to Mestek Machinery technology, sales, and the opportunity to network and learn from top engineering leaders within the organization.
Essential Duties
- Assigned independent projects by the Sr. Sales Engineer.
- Support engineering, sales team, and sales leaders in new and existing projects, following through with an entire sales cycle, and providing pre- and post-sales support.
- Respond to requests for technical assistance in person, via phone, electronically.
- Research questions using available information resources.
- Redirect problems to appropriate resources.
- Collect and organizing data to identify gaps in products, develop marketing collateral, and help identify areas of needed improvement and focus in sales process.
- Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware
and other equipment.
- Opportunities to learn about potential career paths and tracks beyond your internship.
Qualifications
- Enrolled in community college or university with a major of Business Administration or Computer Science, Marketing, Engineering.
- Familiar with basic statistic and business metrics.
- Basic understanding of sales organizations and general sales process.
- Ability to analyze problems and select proper corrective action.
- Exposure to Salesforce (Preferred not required)
- Proficient with Microsoft programs.
- Experience with AutoCAD or alike programs.
- Good oral and written communications skills.
- Good problem analysis and problem-solving capabilities.
Physical Demands
The individual will regularly be required to stand. The individual will frequently be required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The individual will occasionally be required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
