Powder Lead

Position Title: Powder Lead

Wage: $18/hour

Shift: 1st

The Power Lead will be responsible for the paint booth/powder booth and overseeing the employees in that area, which includes a small amount, as well as light maintenance on the machine if something needs to be fixed. This company offers training some mechanical experience is preferred but not required.

Powder Lead Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Prepare Paints: Before starting a job, Industrial Painters prepare the paint; use measurement equipment such as viscosity cups, thickness gages, and gloss gages to check the makeup of the paint and use their understanding of chemistry to mix the appropriate compounds for the job

- Apply Paint: Painters use a variety of techniques and tools to paint surfaces; use spray equipment, rollers, or brushes; paint on primers, pre-finishes, and finishing coats; use special equipment such as self-contained suits or protective wear

- Clean Work Areas: Industrial Painters clean up the area after they have finished a job; carefully follow all guidelines for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous chemicals and waste

- Make sure that the area is running properly

- Oversee employees in the painting area

- Light maintenance on the powder booths if something needs to be fixed

Powder Lead Requirements:

- Painting experience preferred

- Mechanical experience preferred

- High school diploma/GED
