    Responsibilities

    The Charge Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame. She or he provides direct care to these patients via the nursing process, the environmental/instrumentation and management of other health care team members. In additional, the Charge Nurse is expected to perform the duties of a Staff Nurse.


    Qualifications

    Job Requirements:

    • A graduate of an accredited nursing school.
    • Must possess a current Oklahoma License as a Registered Nurse
    • Must obtain and maintain a current certification in CPR. The ICU/SDU Staff RN must maintain ACLS. New graduate nurses have up to six months to obtain their ACLS. Experienced new hires have 90 days to obtain ACLS. NIHSS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.

    Preferred Job Requirements:

    • Two to five years of clinical experience (preferably in the area of application); experience in patient care management preferred.
