    1. Summary

    The Controller collaborates closely with the business unit COO, offering financial leadership at the business unit level. The role is also responsible for overseeing financial resources to facilitate robust and profitable growth. The establishment and monitoring of relevant operational performance metrics is required to initiate and advance the production process for dismantling vehicles in a starting phase. Concurrently, the Controller is involved in the ongoing implementation of new technology applications scheduled for rollout in the coming months. The position encompasses customary controllership responsibilities, such as managing financial close and reporting, as well as ensuring the presence of effective internal controls to maintain transactional integrity and safeguard company assets.

    II. Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Partner with business COO to drive a profitable, well managed growth strategy
    • Provide operational financial analyses, in particular for specific car and parts profitability, inventory management and costing, operating costs analysis, sales performance, backlog and sales channels demand, as necessary
    • Participate in the development of and support the companys strategic plans
    • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the performance of business operations
    • Oversee the preparation of timely monthly financial statements
    • Coordinate and direct the preparation of financial forecasts, report variances and the annual budget
    • Calculate the variance in budget and forecast, as well as report significant problems to management
    • Oversee the operations of the accounting department
    • Ensuring adequate design of an organizational structure for achieving the department's goals and objectives
    • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
    • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
    • Preserve effective, reliable internal controls over accounting transactions and reporting

    • Possess transactional responsibility to ensure that inventory levels and costing is reliable, proper credit reviews standards are in place, invoices are processed promptly, sales adjustments and returns are processed properly, accounts receivable are collected punctually and all other transactions streams are well-managed
    • Lead implementation of financial components of new system development
    • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
    • Additional controller duties as necessary

    III. Education & Experience

      • Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related discipline
      • CPA Accounting designation
      • Minimum of 5 years in a senior accounting or financial management role, preferably in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment
      • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
      • Advanced excel skills, power-user of large data sets
      • Impeccable analytical and organizational skills
      • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
      • Self-motivated and self-directed
      • Ability to work closely with a senior management team

    While performing the essential functions of this job, the Controller will be working on-site office environment. The employee is required to sit for long periods of time.
