  • Job Description

    Position Summary

    Full time, direct hire Automation PLC Programmer for oil/gas company with full benefits and annual bonus of 15% of annual salary. Under direct supervision, assist other field employees and engineering staff with the operation and maintenance of automation equipment.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Participate in the installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, repair, and start-up operations of low voltage electronics and automation equipment, following all company, regulatory, and other governmental policies.
    • Modify, troubleshoot and programPLC software, RS Logic, RS Link, Allen - Bradley.
    • Safely use electrical test equipment for troubleshooting of electronic faults, including multimeters, process meters, network testers, and other specialized equipment as needed.
    • Participate in the development and delivery of service procedure documentation and training material for customers and other service personnel.
    • Maintains accurate and appropriate documentation on all work performed.
    • Complies with all the Companys Safety and Environmental policies, practices, and programs. Takes corrective action within training limitations. Escalates as necessary.
    • Participates in and adheres to all training programs designed to enhance EH&S knowledge and safety standards.
    • Collaborates with both the operational and EH&S team to effectively meet area and departmental EH&S goals.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education, Certificates, Licenses

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Bachelors degree preferred.
    • Valid Drivers License required.
  • Experience

    • 3-5 years of prior experience; preferably in the oil and gas industry.
    • Lease operator experience preferred but not required.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    Critical:

    • Ability to read and follow technical documentation, including wiring diagrams and system schematics.
    • Punctual and reliable job attendance.
    • Ability to follow all safety procedures while working independently.

    Required:

    • Intermediate knowledge of industrial computers, PLCs and process communications.
    • Intermediate understanding of oil and gas production and operation.
    • Experience with basic hand tools, electrical and electronic test equipment.
    • Verbal and written communication skills required.
    • Operate a motor vehicle safely and legally as well as drive to remote locations to complete job tasks.

    Desired:

    • Experience with electrical, electronic automation process, and PLC systems.
    • Willingness to accept responsibility and accountability with a positive attitude.
    • Position requires the ability to perform mathematical functions.
    • Computer knowledge (such as Microsoft applications) and understanding.

    Work Environment

    This role works primarily in a non-office environment. In this capacity, incumbents are regularly:

    • Exposed to outdoor elements such as extreme heat or cold, heavy winds, rain, or snow.
    • Required to drive to and access job sites, in light of day as well as in darkness, to perform work assignments. Some job site locations may be remote from the office requiring long drives to locations isolated from interaction with others and towns.
    • Required to balance, bend, squat, crouch, climb, reach, grasp, stoop, kneel, push/pull and lift objects, and use apparatus to push/pull and lift heavy objects weighing 50 lbs or more.
    • Subject to exposure to hazards such as but not limited to slippery or uneven surfaces; environmental/industry hazards such as chemicals, high-decibel noise from production equipment, fumes, or poor ventilation; proximity to moving objects and vehicles; potentially combustible components; hazardous off-road conditions such as dust, ice, and snow.
    • May be requested to work long hours to complete job assignments.
    • May work a rotating schedule, shift, and/or be on call.
    • Follow all company safety policies and protocols.
    • Required to perform active, physical tasks including but not limited to operating equipment and/or machinery and making adjustments and repairs.
    • Required to have visual acuity to work with parts, equipment, apparatus, etc.
    • Required to possess audible acuity to hear alarms in the event of an emergency. field locations.


    Salary $35hr- $42hr PLUS 15% annual bonus
