Applications Engineer

Scope of Position:

Responsible for having a deep and technical understanding of our product offerings, our customers' applications, and to use this understanding to assist in all aspects of driving product definition, providing technical support, and taking the company and its products to market. Also responsible to apply new products and define all aspects of boiler room systems appropriate for those markets as well as to identify and help extend the company's competitive advantages through product and technical training.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintains and communicate industry understanding of technical trends driving our (and end-use) markets and competition
• Provides technical support for sales and marketing (by application)
• Takes on the role of key technical expert for representatives and customers
• Writes detailed application documentation for Dadanco products
• Defines new products and new applications
• Hands-on jobsite visits
• Provides technical and application assistance for representatives and/or customers for new products
• Gathers data needed for competitive analysis or product development direction
• Solves customer application problems in a timely manner
• Provides technical and product application training to our customers and representatives
• Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested

Position Requirements:

The Applications Engineer must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:

• College degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• Excellent interpersonal skills; can work with a diverse range of professionals
• Strong team player and collaborative worker
• Personable, with ready ability to work with a diverse base
• Ability and willingness to work directly with customers on resolution of complex technical issues
• Well-organized and self-motivated
• Ability to use computer software including Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
• Ability to travel nationally on an as needed basis
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Public speaking presentation skills
