  • Job Description

    Up to $13/hourly

    The Childcare Associate provides care and assists in providing stimulating and developmentally appropriate activities and learning experiences in the infant (ages 6 weeks to 18 months), toddler (ages 18 months to 36 months), preschool (ages 3 years to 4 years), or pre-kindergarten (ages 4 years to 5 years) areas and ensures a safe, educational, and enjoyable environment in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing childcare centers.

    Care Management

    • Provides safe, clean, and trusting care for children ages six weeks through four years of age, where children remain within sight and hearing at all times.
    • Assists in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for the children.
    • Works together with childcare staff members in care giving activities, including assisting with meals, diapering, and toileting.
    • Alternates and cleans toys and supplies on a weekly to bi-weekly basis.

    Expectations Management

    • Assists in coordination and implementation of intergenerational activities with other activities staff at the life plan community.
    • May occasionally be responsible for opening/closing and locking the childcare center at the beginning/end of the day.
    • Participates in assigned activities and events.

    Quality, Compliance, and Risk Management

    • Assists in maintaining policies and procedures for the childcare center.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all child, family, and employee information in accordance with company standards and federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.
    • Participates in continuing education opportunities to stay current in childcare issues.

    Customer Relations

    • Listens and responds promptly to the needs of the children, parents, family members, residents, and staff members.
    • May have to ensure face-to-face interaction with each parent to share information and ensure each child is signed out.

    All other duties as assigned.

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate degree in early childhood education or child development preferred.
    • Current pediatric and adult CPR certification (Basic Life Support) required.
    • Current First Aid certification required.
    • Current Communicable Disease certification required.
    • Current Child Abuse Recognition and Prevention certification required.

    Experience

    • One year experience working with young children in an educational setting required.
    • Experience working with adults helpful, but not required.
    • Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and the internet required.

    Other Requirements

    • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
