    Sodexo is seeking an innovative Catering Executive Chef 2 for one of our showcase accounts at Liberty University, in Lynchburg, VA. Liberty University is one of the largest Christian Universities in the world with 15,000 on campus students. The Lynchburg campus serves about 9,000 residential students, 6,000 commuter students and 2000+ faculty/staff.

    Our Catering Executive Chef will provide high quality and diverse Catering services on a very busy campus with high profile events.LU Catering takes care of all events on campus from a very small intimate dining experience at the Presidents home, serving 3,000+ guests at LU Athletics Flames Club events during football home games, and to a multitude of events during Commencement in May of each year for 20,000 guests on campus.

    We are looking for a proactive, organized, hands-on candidate who is able to set standards, push innovation, and follow through on meeting those expectations for this position. The Catering Executive Chef must feel comfortable interacting with clients and students during events. They must be able to multitask and have a background from high-end food to the basic buffet. This Catering Executive Chef will need experience and knowledge of creating recipes for specific clients at a moments notice as well as costing and executing with a team to excel in this position.

    • be responsible for purchasing, menu compliance, inventory, food cost analysis and forecasting;
    • ensure Sodexo Culinary standards including recipe compliance and food quality are implemented;
    • have the ability and willingness to develop and motivate team members to embrace culinary innovations;
    • ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety standard compliance;and/or
    • have working knowledge of automated food inventory, ordering, production and management systems.

    Qualifications & Requirements:

    Basic Education Requirement -Associate's Degreeor equivalent experience
    Basic Management Experience - 2 years
    Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
