    Job Summary and Qualifications

    As a Wound Care Registered Nurse (RN) you will have the opportunity to use your nursing care experience in a uniquely impactful way. You will provide quality individualized preventive, supportive wound care to each patient. You will be joining a collaborative team that values extraordinary patient care and dedication to one another. In this role:

    You will serve as a clinical resource for the nursing staff and health care providers to assist with planning strategy of would care either pre- or postoperatively or ongoing.

    You will ensure appropriate resource management and develop a safe and appropriate discharge plan in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.

    You will be responsible to include direct nursing intervention provided to a variety of age populations and diagnostic categories, based on the physician developed plan of care and established priorities for wound care issues.

    You will coordinate activities that promote quality outcomes and patient throughput while supporting a balance of optimal care and appropriate resource utilization.

    You will identify potential cause(s) of delayed wound healing.

    You will review medication and provides patient education, pain medication administration per physician order, accurately assess the pain levels and effects of administered pain medications.

    Qualifications:

    Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska

    Associate Degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.

    Wound nursing experience preferred.

    American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification.

    American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification preferred

      Certified Wound RN preferred
