The Cath Lab at UH Elyria Medical center is a small group of dedicated cardiac professionals who enjoy the challenge of diagnosing and treating cardiac patients, and caring for them at some of the most stressful times in their lives.     Position Summary

    Provides safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

    Essential Functions

    • Demonstrates technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes.
    • Demonstrates clear communication and effective collaboration to optimize patient care and clinical operations.

    • Displays leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes.

    • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
    Qualifications

    Experience

    • 1 year RN experience preferred.
    • Preferred experience: ICU, ED, Cath/EP Lab; will orient nurses to critical care if no critical care experience

    Education

    • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.

    Licenses and Certifications

    • Current RN licensure in the State of Ohio required.
    • Current BLS and ACLS Provider Certification, issued by the American Heart Association or must be obtained during Nursing Orientation.
    • Professional Certification from approved organization preferred.

    Shift:

    • Hours: 8 hr. & 10 hr. shifts (8 hrs.: 7:00 am - 3:30 pm / 10 hrs.: 6:30 am - 5:00 pm)
    • Call Requirement: 30 minutes arrival to hospital after page

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Knowledge of nursing process and practice. Required
    • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. Required
