Job Description
Senior Corporate Accountant
The primary responsibility of this position is to ensure financial records are accurate and comply with various regulations, laws, and policies while also identifying and creating efficiencies within processes.
Heres What Youll Do:
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual journal entries and support for non-recurring accounting transactions, including intercompany transactions
- Prepare account reconciliations and complete analytical reviews of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure the accuracy and validity of transactions
- Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
- Perform periodical reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements, including automation opportunities, for greater accuracy, financial control, and efficiency
- Assist with establishing, implementing, and documenting policies and procedures in accordance with US GAAP and company policies
- Provide support in both the external and internal audits and SOX requirements
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
Heres What Youll Need:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required
- 5+ Years experience in general accounting
- CPA designation actively seeking CPA designation a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles required; experience in application at a public company a plus
- Sarbanes Oxley experience a plus
- Proven experience leading and mentoring a team
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Oracle, JDE or comparable ERP system strongly preferred
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- A high level of independence, accountability, teamwork, good judgement and attention to detail in a fast-paced changing environment
