    HVAC Technician

    Position Summary Details

    The primary responsibility of the HVAC Technician is to install, repair and maintain a variety of equipment including refrigeration, air conditioning, electric motors, heating units, heat pumps, compressors, boilers, exhaust fans, economizers, and humidifiers. Inspects HVAC systems and their components. Calibrates temperature control related sensors, receivers, and transmitters. Monitors, troubleshoots, and maintains control systems, including pneumatic, DDS / hybrid systems. Effectively monitors and adjusts interior environments via a Building Automation System. Maintains relevant logs and documentation. Monitors the performance of HVAC subcontractors, including conformance to code. Responds to emergency situations during and after hours.

    Pay:$23.00-$25.00/hr DOE

    The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicantsexperience, skills, abilities, geographic location,and alignment with market data.

    401(k) You become eligible to make personal contributions beginning the first of the month following 30 days of employment. You become eligible for the ABM match beginning the first of the month following six months of employment. ABM matches your pre-tax and/or Roth contributions, dollar for dollar, for the first 3%. For the next 2%, ABM contributes $0.50 for each dollar you contribute. Your contributions and match are immediately vested.

    Essential Functions
    • Ability to troubleshoot, calibrate and adjust pilots, thermostats and burners, transformers, controls, relays, heaters, elements, switches and controls on electrical systems
    • Ability to use the tools of the trade (e.g. multimeter, refrigerant gauges, charging charts, hand tools etc.)
    Responsibilities
    • Installs, maintains and repairs ventilation and air conditioning systems and equipment
    • Identifies maintenance risks on equipment
    • Diagnoses electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems
    • Cleans, adjusts and repairs systems, and performs warranty services
    • Performs emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
    • Provides technical direction and on-the-job training
    • Keeps daily logs and records of all maintenance functions
    • Ensures compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act
    • Complies with service standards, work instructions and customers' requirements
    • Assists with customers' queries
    • Completes other duties as assigned
    • Qualifications
    • Must be 18 years of age or older
    • Refrigeration/HVAC Trade or Vocational certification required
    • 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field
    • Must meet all requirements to receive approval for working in specific ATS environments (if applicable), including ten year work history if available
