    Network Engineer II

    Cox Automotive is looking for a Network Engineer II . A Network Engineer II manages the implementation of network infrastructure initiatives and projects while ensuring the availability, reliability, and optimal performance of networked systems and services. The person in this role performs business impact analysis and post-mortem analysis. A Network Engineer also provides technical and product guidance and advice to customers and management, in addition to participating in on-call after-hours work when needed. This role provides a high level of engineering support for enterprise systems for end users and customers.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Manage 4000+ network and security systems across a large-scale enterprise while maintaining the availability and integrity of these systems
    • Creates regular reports; provides the necessary analytics to make technical and business decisions
    • Effectively manages multiple projects involving installations of infrastructure software and hardware while meeting business objectives and deadlines
    • Ensures all issues regarding system or network automated alerts are logged, tracked, and resolved; manages alerts and events through an enterprise trouble ticketing tool
    • Follow the change management process to production systems concerning physical or system configuration updates
    • Makes process and systems improvement recommendations to assist the business in achieving its goals and objectives, leveraging best practices and professional experiences
    • Develops and maintains capacity planning analysis, recommendations, and procedures
    • Effectively communicates to business partners, customers/end users, engineering peers, and IT leadership
    • Resolve operational issues through support tickets and alerts from network and system monitoring tools. Manages/participates in Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for Network outages.
    • Remains updated on changes in the industry utilizing resources (e.g., technical training, technical magazines, white papers, books, etc.) to gain additional knowledge related to IT systems


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 2 years' experience in a related field (i.e. Network Engineering, operations.). The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and up to 2 years' experience; or 6 years' experience in a related field.


    Required Experience:

    • 3-5 years of Network Engineering experience in large enterprise environments
    • 3-5 years of experience administering Cisco switching and routing equipment
    • At least 3+ years of experience in three or more of the following environments: IPSEC/SSL VPNs, Cisco routers/switches, Cisco Wireless infrastructure, WAN/LAN communication protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Spanning Tree), Enterprise firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, web content filtering systems
    • 5+ years of experience on technology infrastructure teams


    Required Competencies/Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, planning/ organizing, and communication skills required
    • Ability to manage pressure while maintaining attention to detail
    • Candidates must also have functional and technical expertise, adaptability and flexibility, be customer-focused, and work well in teams


    Preferred Experience:

    • CCNA/CCNP, CISSP, DNAC, Prime, Palo Alto systems, Python, scripting
