Job Description

LSF is looking for a talented Circle of Welcome Coordinator who wants to make an impact in the lives of others.
This position is responsible for recruiting, screening, onboarding, and managing co-sponsors and volunteers for our refugee services program in Orlando, Florida.
Purpose & Impact:
The Circle of Welcome Coordinator will be responsible for establishing and managing a co-sponsorship program. Co-sponsorship is a special partnership between a local resettlement agency, a community group, and a refugee family. This type of volunteer commitment is incredibly important to the work of welcome. Co-sponsors bring an essential level of commitment, continuity, and care for the refugees they serve and significantly multiply and extend the services refugees receive.
Essential Functions:
- With support from Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, the circle of welcome coordinator will craft a co-sponsorship program that works for the local resettlement program needs.
- Develop and multi-faceted outreach strategy to recruit co-sponsors.
- Commit to working with and doing outreach to a diverse range of community groups.
- Gives at least 10 community outreach presentations to various community organizations in the first month of the program and then 5 each month after that.
- Identifies and vets at least 5 co-sponsor groups in the first two months of the program.
- Establish an onboarding process for co-sponsors that includes training and background checks.
- Conducts at least one training session a month for new co-sponsor groups.
- At least 50% of community sponsors provide at least 8 R&P Core Services
- Hold at least one check in per month with active sponsor/refugee pairings.
- Provide ongoing technical assistance and support to active co-sponsors that will be recorded in a tracking sheet.
- Pending refugee arrivals, match co-sponsors with refugee families within one month of completing training.
- Collect feedback from co-sponsor groups and participating refugee families.
- Ensure at least 10 co-sponsor groups complete the program by the end of the grant.
- Attend a virtual weeklong onboarding and training program hosted by Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service on how to start a co-sponsorship program.
- Attend monthly check in calls with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service
- Will respond to all program-related questions in a timely and professional manner.
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Other Functions:
- May enter all financial transactions of the clients funds into the IRIS system as well as accounting per procedures in a timely manner
- May create and document check request vouchers for all R&P clients per scheduled if necessary
- Must possess a clean/valid Florida Driver License, reliable transportation and proof of insurance (transcript of driving record will be requested from the Department of Motor Vehicle at the time of hire).
- Assists manager with RFP and other project.
- Provides support to program staff if necessary.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift at least 45 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made for otherwise qualified persons with disabilities. Regular sitting, working at computer keyboard and desk. Occasional bending and lifting. Must be able to drive to different locations.
Education:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field in combination with 3-5 year of relevant work experience with social service volunteer management programs.
Experience:
3-year experience preferred working with refugees or immigrants. Cross-cultural or international experience preferred. Strong public speaking, networking skills, marketing, and relationship management experience required. Detail-oriented, with the ability to multi-task, and work well under pressure. Outstanding organizational, analytical, and critical thinking/problem-solving skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with colleagues, community members, and partners. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail Cross-cultural experience and cultural competency related to issues of diversity. Understanding of the USRAP program strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of refugee cultures, backgrounds, languages and resources helpful.
- Computer skills to produce and interpret graphs, charts, spreadsheets and other mathematical reports.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; make recommendations and develop implementation strategies.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to interpret agency, federal and state laws pertaining to the program.
- Ability to speak before groups of individuals and to lead employees and volunteers.
- Ability to plan and direct activities to write goals and objectives.
- Ability to utilize agency resources and technology to appropriately answer questions and provides guidance to staff and parents.
- Ability to train and provide presentations to large and small groups.
- Ability to collaborate with and have working knowledge of local community resources.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Sustained concentration and attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload and deadlines.
- Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
- Bilingual a plus.
Other:
Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Reports to Manager
- Must be a team player with monitors as well as other clerical staff.
- Accurate, complete and timely submission of required reports and documentation to LIRS & LSF.
- Effective working relationship with clients (providers).
- Adherence to LSF policies and procedures.
