Job Summary and Qualifications

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skill to provide nursing care to the Infusion/Pain management patient.
• Performs job tasks to ensure personal, patient and departmental safety.
• Performs the functions of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating the care according to the nursing process for assigned patients in the Infusion/ Pain management program.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of pathophysiology and disease management and Understands the role of infusion/pain management therapy and how it relates to disease processes, including oncology.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of Chemotherapy agents.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and skill in the caring for all types of infusion lines including but not limited to ports, pic lines, and cook lines.
• Initiates and documents patient teaching including family and/or significant others. Uses appropriate patient education documentation according to plan of care for the infusion/pain management patient.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the principles of pain management, including implantable pumps and stimulators.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of infusion therapy.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Minimum one year of experience.
• Preferred Experience in Area of clinical expertise to which applying.
• Required Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Licensed a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia or has a Compact license.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
