    Description

    UCHealth is committed to expanding access to much needed behavioral health services. As a part of this commitment, a new 40 bed inpatient behavioral health program will be opening at the University of Colorado Hospital in 2023. This program will include two 20 bed adult units serving mood and thought disorders and a refractory depression program including ECT. We are looking for behavioral health nurses who would like to join us in providing trauma informed and evidence based care in a healing state of the art care environment. As a behavioral health nurse at UCHealth you will be a part of an interdisciplinary treatment team providing innovative patient-centered care to those experiencing mental health crisis. Whether an experienced behavioral health nurse or just starting in the field, UCHealth provides an exciting opportunity to be a part of a new program to establish and work in a collaborative and supportive working environment. This position will provide patient care in the new inpatient behavioral health unit at the University of Colorado Hospital.

    Work Schedule:Full Time Nights

    Responsibilities:
    Initiates corrective action whenever patient presentation shows adverse symptomology.

    Responds to patient care situations utilizing nursing standards and protocols for treatment.

    Provides psychiatric nursing to a complex behavioral health patient population in a complex environment.

    Handles critical and highly stressful situations, reacting decisively with efficiency and composure.

    Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum Required Education: Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years' experience.
    • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
    • Required Licensure/Certification: State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider and any relevant life support certification as determined at position level.
    • Minimum Experience: 6 months of nursing (RN) experience.
    • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.)

    The pay range for this position is: $33.08 - $51.27 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience. This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus on offers accepted through June 30, 2023; certain criteria apply.
