Senior Food Scientist

Looking for a Food Scientist with experience taking products from conception to commercialization. Permanent position with an organization offering: salary of 90-110k, full benefits, matching 401k, and relocation assistance.


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead the development of products from concept to commercialization on existing business and innovation projects
  
• Create technical work plans to execute the development process in the test kitchen that can be applied to the production facilities
  
• Maintain quality of the existing business
  
• Partner with Procurement to identify alternate ingredients for surety of supply and new ingredients for innovation projects while focusing on sustainability
  
• Communicate and work with vendors to develop ingredients to use in new products or improve existing
  
• Collaborate with the Packaging Engineer to help create the best packaging to maintain product integrity through the product lifecycle with a focus a sustainability
  
• Accurately document of all steps of the process in compliance with standards
  
• Work with cross-functional teams to execute test runs and new product start-ups
  
• Project manage all phases of development
  
• Organize meetings, samplings, and product cuttings
  
• Work with equipment safely and in clean environment
  
• Represent company at customer functions and meetings
  
• May supervise and lead others
  

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in food science or related
  
• 5-8 years of experience
  
• Must be able to translate technical aspects into real-world solutions
  
• Excellent communication, detail, and organizational skills
  
• Experience with databases, statistics, and spreadsheets
  
• Exceptional computer skills; including office suite of products
  
• Strong analytical, time management, and problem-solving skills
