Job Summary and Qualifications
Serve as a change agent for the organization by driving cultural transformation, adoption of successful process improvement practices and diagnosing barriers to project success Facilitate resolution of conflicting processes
Mentor leadership teams, process owners and stakeholders in the use of process design/improvement methodology and tools, including training and coaching leaders and process improvement team members
Collaborate with department leaders and teams to identify and execute activities within their areas which will improve productivity, eliminate waste, enhance patient safety and/or reduce overall costs
Work with Directors by seeing the process, which involves direct observations of how work is accomplished in a particular area
Collaborate with management to engineer delivery of highest quality patient care with the most efficient use of labor and supplies
Actively participate in planning and implementation of processes to improve patient perception of care during their hospital experience
Review patient satisfaction data and problem solves with all levels of management and care delivery personnel to improve the patient experience
Recommend solutions and work with Directors to improve overall operations
Monitor and evaluate quality and appropriateness of patient care delivery processes and practices while concurrently identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration throughout the organization incorporating evidenced-based practices in process design
Analyze facility specific, division, and enterprise-wide quality metrics and drives quality improvement across complex, integrated processes Integrate evidenced based practices for assuring patient safety throughout process design
Drive quality assurance and process improvement, with an emphasis on transparency, root cause analysis, cross-functional feedback and data collection, and data interpretation for optimal performance
Orchestrate and/or attend cross-functional meetings to support resource alignment, project issue resolution, and communication
Identify process improvement opportunities and lead multiple project teams
Include both operational and strategic perspectives in system design
Support commitment to fiscal priorities through appropriate management of resources Identify opportunities for improvement and cost containment in delivery of care and service
Evaluate areas that need process improvement
Conduct detailed studies to understand and improve processes as identified
Perform clinical quality improvement reviews of selected & referred cases for medical staff peer review and provide data collection & analysis for input to the OPPE and FPPE system
Must be capable of fostering and promoting evidence-based
Be able to identify and collect/analyze quality data based upon national trends and evidence based care and generate meaningful reports using information systems/clinical information
Have knowledge base of fundamentals of performance improvement (PI) using a variety of accepted PI models
Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accept responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Monitors performance in areas of responsibility to ensure compliance with statutory mandates, regulatory requirements and accreditation standards of professional organizations such as TJC (Statutory, regulatory, and industry requirements include but are not limited to the following: FDA, EMTALA, Medicare and Medicaid provision of the Social Security Act, Leapfrog, NHQ, and AHRQ)
Disseminates information and research related changes in regulatory requirements and clinical research pertinent to quality management and performance improvement
Coordinates with facility administration and the medical staff office to monitor compliance of medical staff members, allied health professionals, and contract services with quality management and performance improvement standards, including clinical practice guidelines determined to be appropriate by the hospital and medical staff leadership at Wesley Medical Center
Assists appropriate medical staff and hospital committees in the review and resolution of individual and/or aggregate patient quality of care issues, including process and systems reviews such as FMECA.
Has the primary responsibility of ensuring that regulatory requirements related to FMECAs are met on an annual basis
Responsible for completion of annual PPR Manages tracer methodology as a part of assurance of continuous compliance
Coordinates regulatory certification requirements for disease specific certifications
Maintains current knowledge and education in regulatory compliance and associated areas by attending educational conferences and other educational materials, perusing Atlas information and Internet sites, and other pertinent information and research
Serves as member of select committees critical to effectiveness of the Quality Management / Regulatory Compliance program
For the regulatory compliance function, provides leadership, planning, resource information, communications policy/procedure development and maintenance, regulatory compliance monitoring, and staff compliance
What qualifications you will need:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through American Heart Assoc. or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR required
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing - Master's degree preferred
- Three to five years of experience in Healthcare Management
- Extensive knowledge and skill in manipulation of data through Lotus, Excel, Database, Graphics and Statistics software
- Have demonstrated experience in statistically robust test design and analysis
