Job Summary and Qualifications

Performs all required ultrasound and clinical evaluations at a technical level requiring limited supervision including but not limited to mobile, portable or departmental abdominal, ob/gyn, small parts, carotid, arterial, venous & visceral vascular, and invasive procedures. Responsible for operating a variety of equipment in both a hospital and outpatient setting. Responsible for confirming order/correct patient/correct exam and entering exam in Meditech. Must provide quality work at a productive level. Must assure that all STAT exams are responded to properly. Adapts to schedule changes including call shift and call back and holidays. The RDMS or RVT maintains a high standard of medical ethics, professionalism, and courtesy at all times and is self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field of ultrasound and new procedures as they evolve while educating/assisting subordinates and students. The Sonographer II actively pursues continuing education and additional ARDMS registries. Follows policies and procedures of West Florida Hospital. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and adheres to WFH standards of behavior.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Graduated from an accredited Ultrasound School - Required
• Registered Vascular Specialist, or Registered Vascular Technician (RVT) required
