    Safety and Loss Prevention Manager

    About this role

    The principal function of the Safety and Loss Prevention Manager is to provide primary leadership and management oversight for all loss prevention, safety, emergency preparedness & response and regulatory compliance related functions forth Ace Hardware Retail Support Center.The position is responsible for supporting and meeting Corporate Business Plan objectives by ensuring that the assets of the Retail Support Center receive a consistent level of protection acceptable to senior management. The primary objective is to protect and care for the assets of the RSC, which belong to our retailer owners, whom we represent.

    What Youll Do

    • Health Safety & Environmental /& Emergency Preparedness & Response The Safety and LP Manager must have a working knowledge of Safety Programs, OSHA regulations, EPA requirements and FDA guidelines related to the handling and storage of food related items, and other applicable local ordinances and state laws related to Life Safety Systems. Assessing the safety needs of a business unit, knowing DOT transportation guidelines for storing and shipping hazardous materials, and ensuring food items comply with FDA requirements are subjects which require firm knowledge. Formulating an action plan in each one of these areas and executing for results is required.

      The Safety and LP Manager is also responsible for the Safety Program including response, recording and investigation of all accidents and near miss incidents. Lead emergency preparedness and considered the subject matter expert (SME) in executing the local business continuity and emergency response plan during a business disruption or crisis.

    • Budgeting & Financial / Analytical / Planning Skills must know how to prepare and manage an annual budget, interpret financial reports (GL Review) and have relevant analytical and financial planning skills for business. An effective Safety and LP Manager exhibits a results oriented, analytical approach to achieving results.

    • Loss Prevention / Security must have a solid understanding of physical security and life safety systems, which would include access control, CCTV, alarm systems, and applicable life safety systems. They must insure the protection of people, product and property.

    • Shrink Management - implementation of security best practices (Standard Work Instructions) typical of a distribution environment protecting high valued inventory, including the security and safety of our truck fleet while inventory is in transit.

    • Investigations A functional knowledge of how to conduct investigations, interviews and composing investigative reports. Investigation responsibilities include theft, accident investigation and Workplace Threats and Violence.

    • HSE & LP Training The Safety & LP Manager will be responsible for implementing required training programs. This includes the ability to deliver group and individual training for specialized jobs. Training programs include but are not limited to OSHA Safety training, powered industrial truck training, Lock Out Tag Out, DOT Hazmat and Blood Borne Pathogens.

    • Accounting of Assets tracking the physical assets of the building on a consistent basis (at least annually) to ensure the value of what we have on our books matches each locations records at HQ.

    • Project Management effective project and time management skills are essential to the successful coordination and completion of facility projects. Acts as a project manager (PM) and therefore a developed understanding of setting goals and timelines for projects, to include motivating the team (or others) to monitor performance and measure results and executing is key.

    $82300.00 - $102950.00
