About the unit
CHS Watervliet Hospital has a comprehensive 18 bed acute inpatient rehabilitation center. This CARF certified unit is designed to meet the rehabilitation needs of patients primarily suffering from neurologic or orthopedic conditions. Individuals receive comprehensive care, with services provided from an interdisciplinary team approach including Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Physicians, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Speech Language Pathology. CHS Watervliet clinicians also support patient care within a 6-bed orthopedic unit, and 12 bed emergency department.

Scope of work
Provides therapy to patients based on patient need and medical direction. Provides patient/caregiver education and arranges for adaptive equipment as needed.Performs evaluation procedures to assess the level of disability with regard to scope of practice, goals and a plan of treatment, and to make appropriate recommendations.Provides a treatment program and education to restore and return maximal function to the patient. Assesses effectiveness of treatment and modifies goals / treatment methods, as needed to meet changing needs.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent from an accredited occupational therapy program Required
- Masters Degree Preferred
- LIC-Occupational Therapist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR) - NB-COT National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy Upon Hire required
- LIC-Driver's License - STATE_MI State of Michigan Home Care Business Lines Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
- CRT-Hand Therapist, Certified (CHT) - HTCC Hand Therapy Certification Commission Hand Therapy Program Upon Hire preferred
