Lutheran Services Florida (LSF) envisions a world where children are safe, families are strong, and communities are vibrant.
LSF is looking for a talented ProgramAssistant who wants to leave an impact in the lives of children and families.
Candidate must be bilingual in both English and Spanish.
Purpose & Impact:
As the Program Assistant, you will assist the Assistant Program Director with a wide range of office duties and other areas of need.
Essential Functions:
- Greets clients/visitors to the office.
- Answer calls and makes appointments.
- Fingerprints individuals for unaccompanied minors program.
- Maintains records, prepares reports, and composes correspondence related to the individuals fingerprinted.
- Assists Program Assistant/Admin with office duties such as assisting with the hiring process, including scheduling drug screens and fingerprinting.
- Provides clerical support as directed.
Other Functions:
- Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
- Work on special projects with minimum supervision.
- Back up in the absence of the Program Assistant/Admin.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must possess a clean/valid Florida Driver License, reliable transportation and proof of Insurance (transcript of driving record will be requested from the Department of Motor Vehicle at the time of hire).
- Able to sit and stand for long periods of time, utilizes telephone, computer, and other office equipment.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work flexible and long hours.
Education:
High School Diploma or GED, or other relevant degree or equivalent experience.
Experience:
Experience working with clients; comfortable working closely with diverse client base.
Skills:
- Clerical, typing and computer proficiency required.
- Good written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills with persuasive abilities.
- Must exercise discretion and good judgment in dealing with sensitive issues.
- Able to work with the public.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Able to work independently and with minimal supervision (initiative).
- Dependable and reliable.
- Initiative and follow through to ensure all assignments are completed.
Other:
Must demonstrate sensitivity to our service populations cultural and socioeconomic characteristics and needs.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Reports to Assistant Program Director.
- Must be a team player.
- Accurate, complete and timely submission of required reports and documentation to LIRS & LSF.
- Effective working relationship with clients (providers).
- Adherence to LSF policies and procedures.
