Unit Description:Do you enjoy a high energy, fast paced environment?Sodexo is seeking a Construction Project Manager to join our team at Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana.Six years experience in Construction Project Manager title specifically, required per the client.Our successful candidate will have broad experience managing projects that are often complex in terms of delivery and a professional who is adept at managing the client-partner relationship. Our Construction Project Manager will assist in leading the execution of the projects and will also be involved in pre-construction planning with stake holders, designers, consultants, vendors, clients and other project team members. Budgeted Salary is in the lower third of the posted range and a Sign-On Bonus is available!

Our successful candidate will assist in developing assignments, timetables and responsibilities for team members for the duration of the project. You will also organize and direct construction personnel and ensures that materials and equipment resources are delivered on time. The Construction Project Manager interacts with planning commissions and governing bodies, coordinates costing estimation, contract negotiation and remodeling activities, manages professional employees and supervisors. Our leader will manage complex technical operations teams, and is accountable for the performance and results of a team within the function. This role will adapt plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. The Construction Project Managers decisions are guided by policies, procedures and business plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluates the contractual scope of work and impact of client issued bulletins, field directives and scheduling changes
- Ensures engineering and commissioning performed by the field team is in accordance with established standards
- Analyzes construction budget reporting systems and project schedules to pro-actively address potential problems
- Develops and maintains viable long-term relationships with consultants, prime contractors and subcontractors
- Performs cost estimates, prepares proposals and negotiates final settlement price and customer acceptance
- Manages the selection, ordering, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned
- Ensures project document controls are in compliance with contract requirements and Sodexo standards
- Oversees project construction for compliance with specifications, local codes and installation techniques
- Effectively communicates project progress, issues and financial status to management as required
- Develops cost estimates and sub-contractor scope documents and solicitations for bids
- Acts as the primary onsite project leader for execution teams on assigned projects
- Develops project schedules and executes according to plan for assigned projects
- Communicates positive and realistic expectations to the project team and client
- Manages risks and establishes project recovery plans when required
- Reviews, interprets and acts within contract Terms and Conditions
- Holds self and others accountable for meeting key project metrics
- Ensures subcontractors understand expectations of the project
- Actively pursues additional work through change orders
- Attends and leads job progress meetings as required
- Resolves disputes with minimal need for escalation
- Negotiates, prepares and issues subcontracts
Is this opportunity right for you? We are looking for candidates who have:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- General Contractor or other licensure and credentialing is a plus
- Demonstrated high level of verbal and written communication skills is a must
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Construction experience in food service and university environments is required by the client
- Minimum of 5 years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry
- Construction project management experience with new construction, renovations, infrastructure renewals
- Experience coordinating contractors, stakeholders, consultants and associated project teams and groups is a must
- Advanced working knowledge of project scheduling and documentation techniques and processes
- Proficient in Project Management software, and financial accounting systems is a plus
- Must have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience
- Strong skills in Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project, PlanGrid, and Smartsheet
- Ability to effectively communicate up and down the spectrum
