The Nurse Manager Inpatient Psych will work for a hospital that is known for the behavioral and mental health departments. These multidisciplinary departments are designed to support both a pediatric and adult population. Through comprehensive assessments, treatment planning, therapeutic services and programs, patients and their families will be supported by a dedicated team of physicians, specialists, social workers, nurses, and programs to meet the needs of an of each individual. This hospital offers multiple inpatient psychiatric units with 24-hour nursing care, on-call physicians, and social workers for patients requiring hospitalization, along with several outpatient programs, wellness and recovery services designed for an adult, geriatric and pediatric population.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Nursing, the Nurse Manager Inpatient Psych will be accountable for overseeing a 70+ bed inpatient psychiatric unit with over 125+ FTE, including a Nurse Educator, Assistant Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, Registered Nurses across multiple specialties, medical assistants, technicians, and ancillary staff. Responsibilities of the Nurse Manager Inpatient Psych department include overseeing operational workflow across multiple mental and behavioral health units, cross collaborating with multidisciplinary staff, developing quality performance improvement initiatives, and managing operational and fiscal budgets. Additionally, the Nurse Manager Inpatient Psych unit will be up to date on best practices so theyre able to lead by example and closely work with the nurse educator to develop educational curriculum, and update processes, policy and procedures to meet the units needs.

Ideally the Nurse Manager Inpatient Psych will have prior management experience overseeing an inpatient psychiatric, mental, or behavioral health unit, along with a recent clinical background. The Nurse Manager Inpatient Psych should also hold their BSN and active RN license (either currently hold New York RN license or willing to obtain before determined start date).
