As a Desktop Support Technician you will performa variety of general support tasks within an established IT infrastructure.Job Description
We are looking for an Desktop Support Specialist. This position will be On-site in the Beaverton, Oregon area. This is a 1 year position with probable extension.
What Youll Do
Perform tasks as directed, with minimal supervision
Responsible for the installation and troubleshooting of desktops/laptops/tablets/mobile devices, network switches, automation systems in the fab and other duties such as network support, printer support and helpdesk support as needed
Install, Configure and administer windows operating systems.Install and assist in configuring network switches
Responsible for maintaining the configuration and integrity of systems as per ADI policy
Responsible for maintaining system uptime inside the fab and respond to fab-support events as quickly as possible
Responsible for installing/supporting the client applications and customer support
Responsible for keeping the systems up-to-date with patches and other needs
Should be able to work on multiple projects under minimal supervision or guidance
Must be able to provide 1st/2nd tier support for most helpdesk related issues
Should be willing to perform other duties as assigned
Create/Maintain documentation for established support procedures and processes
Good team player and should be able to work in 24 x 7 manufacturing environment and should be
ready to work in day/night shifts.
What You'll Need
Required:
2+ years experience in a similar support role preferably in a high availability, 24 x 7 production environment.
Excellent knowledge and experience with building laptops/desktop PCs, creating/configuring standard install images
Experience in installing/supporting network switches
Knowledge on supported systems like printers, network interfaces, windows 7/10 OS, phones (android/windows), tablets and other mobile computers.
General understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, performance monitoring)
Good knowledge on Microsoft Office tools, PC Imaging/backup software
Preferred:
Experience with any system monitoring tools like Solarwinds, Nagios is a plus
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor
