    Manufacturing Engineer

    JOB SUMMARY

    As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and improving manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, productivity, and product quality, aligning with our Corporate WIN Strategy.

    SCOPE/ SUPERVISION AND INTERACTION

    This role involves no supervisory responsibilities but includes mentoring entry-level Manufacturing Engineers and new employees. Effective cross-functional communication is essential, as this position requires collaboration with individuals at various levels across the organization.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop innovative solutions to complex engineering and manufacturing production challenges, leveraging advanced manufacturing processes, product design knowledge, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials expertise. Collaborate with suppliers and gather insights from operators and production technicians.
    • Refine and enhance processes using continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing/production principles. Provide recommendations for product changes and improvements to Product Engineers.
    • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing workflows, space requirements, and equipment layouts. Coordinate input from multiple teams or areas, make recommendations, and implement changes.
    • Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished products and process capabilities, and establishing standards to validate manufacturing process requirements. Use statistical methods (e.g., design of experiments, SPC) to identify root causes of failures that may lead to changes in design, tolerances, or processing methods.
    • Evaluate capital equipment investments and prepare cost justifications. Design and create concept drawings for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment. Oversee the implementation of capital equipment projects.
    • Develop tooling and fixtures for new products and processes, collaborating with tooling vendors for design supply.
    • Identify and implement solutions for safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction issues.
    • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes and engineering procedures. Summarize process information and trends in reports.
    • Share specialized knowledge with others and represent the company on specific projects, leading and participating in project teams.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelors Degree in a related Engineering or Technology field
    • Related experience is preferred
    • Strong math skills and proficiency with personal computers and CAD software
    • Solid mechanical aptitude, ability to use basic measuring tools, and hands-on capabilities for unsupervised project work
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes preferred
    • Preference for Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, project management, FMEAs, and quality systems experience
    • Effective teamwork and interpersonal communication skills
    • Active participation in the plants safety program, reporting any safety incidents or unsafe conditions promptly
    • Maintenance of a clean and safe work area, adherence to 5S standards, and completion of daily tasks in a timely manner
    • Regular attendance and punctuality, with an expectation of overtime as needed to meet customer demand
    • Other duties as assigned
