Job Title: Sr. Server Administrator Job Location: Columbus, MS Overview: Abacus Technology is seeking a Sr. Server Administrator to provide technical support to the Network Control Center (NCC) at Columbus AFB. This is a full-time position. Major Duties & Responsibilities: • Install, configure, administer, support, and maintain both physical and virtual server infrastructure, including associated hardware. • Implement best practices to identify and recommend system functional specifications, enhancing or automating current functions and actions, and performing backup and recovery of servers and data. • Provide operation and maintenance (O&M) support for unclassified/classified server infrastructure as well as server and desktop-based software applications. • Configure/maintain various types of servers (file, print, backup, web/IIS, SQL database).
• Perform data backup and recovery and provide input for business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
• Identify and repair hardware and network connectivity issues. • Assist in testing and deployment of new applications and systems. • Utilize ITIL best practices to enhance and optimize the services provided to end users.
• Coordinate with multiple levels of support teams to resolve customer incidents/problems, fulfill service requests, and institute continuous improvement initiatives.
• Develop Powershell scripts to enhance/automate requests/requirements; push updates/patches.
• Implement DISA STIGs for all servers. • Develop technical solutions with team members and work to influence members regarding solution design, process and/or approaches.
• Act as the team lead and provide coaching and review the work of lower-level technical staff. • Assist in the professional and technical development of the team. Qualifications: 5+ years experience with Microsoft System Server Administration in an enterprise environment including at least 4 years in a lead role. Must be Security+ CE certified. Must hold one of the following certifications or be able to obtain within six months: Server+; MCSA/MCSE Server 2016/2019 or Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, or Nutanix Certified Associate or Professional. Experience implementing and sustaining a virtual server infrastructure such as Nutanix or VMWare. Experience with security best practices and management as it relates to servers, network, and firewalls. Able to provide Tier 2 assistance to help desk technicians and customers. Knowledge of network traffic and routing as it pertains to servers. Experience with the following desired: Nutanix AHV/Acropolis; VMware ESXi/vSphere; MECM/SCCM/PDQ; Windows Deployment Server/PXE Boot imaging; and Powershell. Familiarity with DISA/DoD/AF regulations, instructions, and guidance desired. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Secret clearance.
