Job Title: Systems Administrator Job Location: Quantico, Virginia Overview: Abacus Technology is seeking a Systems Administrator to provide technical support for the US Air Force Office of Special Investigations (AFOSI) in Quantico. This is a full-time position. Major Duties & Responsibilities: • Provide IT systems administration, including planning for, installing, and maintaining computer systems, including physical and virtual servers, storage area networks and network attached storage on five enclaves. • Perform performance monitoring and tuning, upgrades and patching, backup and recovery, as well as troubleshooting and problem resolution. • Develop and maintain schedules and plans for system updates and patching. • Manage Group Policy Objects. • Report on system uptime and SLA performance. • Audit server utilization. • Assist in building, coordinating, maintaining, changing, and updating, the Risk Management Framework (RMF) Assessment and Authorization (A&A) packages for the five enclaves administered by AFOSI. • Ensure that all application deliverables and systems comply with applicable DISA STIGs or Security Requirements Guidance. • Identify and report system risks. Qualifications: 3 years experience in systems administration in a Windows based environment. Bachelor’s degree in a related field desired. Must be certified at IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, or other certification satisfying DoD 8570 certification requirements). Microsoft certification a plus. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows technologies, including Active Directory, Windows Administration, scripting, and Windows configuration techniques. Experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022; MS SQL Server 2016 and 2019; and VMWare ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN, and Horizon. Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining servers with Microsoft Windows. Experience with Active Directory and Group Policy Objects. Able to assess server infrastructure and configuration and identify areas for improvement, and recommend solutions. Experience with security as it pertains to server infrastructure, desktops, laptops, servers, firewalls, routers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS). Must have experience with RMF and STIGs. Working knowledge of IT Systems Maintenance Compliance processes to include information assurance vulnerability management (IAVM). Experience creating, reviewing, and revising security documentation and artifacts. Experience administering servers in a virtualized production environment using VMWare vSphere 7.x or 8.x technology. Experience with Storage Area Networks desired. Experience with DoD IT environment and networks. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, analytical skills to troubleshoot issues, and an ability to conceptualize server infrastructures and configurations. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
