The Opportunity
This position works out of our Columbus, OH location in the Nutrition Division. In Research & Development, our ambition is providing innovative high-quality products, creating sustainable value, delivering superior user experience, and enhancing health outcomes at all stages of life.
What You’ll Work On
- Support and Coordinate testing activity (contaminant, micro, inherent nutrients, special testing, etc.) for ingredient qualifications, as needed, including coordination of both internal and external testing, verification of results, data summarization, and troubleshooting.
- Participate in ingredient qualification activities by prioritizing workstreams, defining testing strategies, and ensuring alignment with broader R&D and Supplier Quality objectives.
- Own and manage risk assessment activities, ensuring evaluations are accurate, timely, and integrated into technical and business decision-making.
- Oversee data governance for ingredient testing, including data entry workflows, data validation/approval, and review of technical documentation.
- Lead or contribute to complex investigations, troubleshooting issues and identifying root causes with minimal guidance. Collaborating with technical partners to assess risks, evaluate data, and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify, recommend, and lead process improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, data integrity, and workflow optimization across ingredient qualification activities.
- Provide technical guidance to peers and cross-functional teams, translating complex data sets and risk assessments into actionable insights.
- Work closely with Supplier Quality Assurance, Product Development, Project Management, and Purchasing groups in support of ingredient qualification projects.
- Interact with other groups, share information, provide updates, summarize information, and distill technical information for non-technical team members.
Accountability:
- Operates with high autonomy, setting day-to-day priorities and influencing the scope and direction of ingredient qualification workflows.
- Anticipates project risks and proactively adjusts plans to keep work aligned with technical and organizational strategy.
- Contributes to the development and continuous improvement of team processes, tools, and documentation.
Required Qualifications
Required
- Minimum B.S. in a scientific related field
- 2 years’ experience in research or industry laboratory.
Preferred:
- Experience with ingredient qualification for food production, macro and micro-nutrients, proximates, contaminants, microbiology, or project management are an advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions
- Experience with automation tools (such as Excel automation, Power Automate, or similar process-automation solutions) to streamline data workflows.
- Strong data analysis abilities, with the capability to interpret test results, identify trends, and draw technical conclusions.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot issues, investigate root causes, and recommend data-driven solutions.

The base pay for this position is $68,000.00 – $136,000.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
