We are looking for a Houseperson Supervisor to join our Abigail Kirsch team at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, NY
Job Summary: To set up tables, chairs, linens, maintain the cleanliness of the ballroom areas and all restroom and office space, repair and perform preventative maintenance, and other duties related to the set up and breakdown of event rooms, while maintaining Abigail Kirsch’s high standards of quality.
Compensation:
$23.20 an hour.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of Banquet set-ups and/or custodial work
- Ability to withstand extreme temperatures ranging from 0’F to 100’F for extended periods of time
- Basic knowledge of painting, window cleaning and general cleaning
- Ability to handle equipment such as vacuums, sweepers and carpet extractors
- Ability to work with cleaning chemicals such as window cleaner, brass polish, toilet bowl cleaner
- Ability to deal effectively with internal and external customers, some who may require high levels of patience, tact, diplomacy in order to diffuse anger and obtain information in order to resolve problems quickly
- Ability to communicate effectively with associates, management, clients and vendors if necessary.
- Able to work flexible schedule in order to accommodate business levels.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Set-up, Breakdown and clean event rooms per diagram.
2. Maintain a neat, organized and safe working environment
3. Stack and store equipment in lumber-room when not in use
4. Assemble and breaking down the dance floors and maintain cleanliness.
5. Place linen and skirting on all tables for functions.
6. Set tables with pads, pencils and candies for meetings unless otherwise instructed.
7. Pin-spot tables, bars and buffets
8. Refresh rooms in between functions and room turns.
9. Monitor and refresh guest bathrooms during events and spot check throughout the day. Refresh paper goods in dispensers as necessary. Empty trash as needed
10. Move all lumber for room turns.
11. Assist captains and Banquet Service Managers during events when needed
12. Monitor gallery and lobby for cleanliness ensuring spotless mirrors and floors. Remove boxes. Breakdown tables when there are no functions
13. Vacuum ballroom and office daily. Perform deep cleaning as needed.
14. Clean windows and ledges.
15. Spot clean chairs. Perform deep cleaning as needed.
16. Clean, organize and maintain storerooms.
17. Spot clean acoustic walls and moveable Partitions. Perform deep cleaning as needed.
18. Disinfect and sanitize all restrooms and locker rooms
19. Clean and maintain the guest suites
20. Sweep and mop all floors, clean mirrors, polish steel and chrome, spot clean and shampoo carpets and chairs
21. Dispose of all garbage
22. General repair and maintenance of the facility and equipment within
23. Paint walls, woodwork, wood paneling touch up and doors when needed
24. Keep an inventory of light bulbs while checking and changing light bulbs daily
25. Work on any plumbing issues that might arise: i.e. – clogged drains, flooding, leaks etc.
26. Assist with hanging banners at clients’ request
27. Assist when necessary and fill in when needed as a restroom attendant
28. Perform all reasonable requests by the management team.
29. Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings and training sessions.
30. Follow proper time keeping policies and procedures
31. Follow the sign in and out procedure for keys.
32. Know and follow all Abigail Kirsch/ Tappan Hill emergency and safety procedures.
