Overview Starlite Recovery Center helps individuals struggling with co-occurring disorders build a strong foundation for long-term recovery. Starlite Recovery Center offers help for adults and family members whose lives are impacted by addiction and alcoholism, serving the Texas community, Starlite is the leading provider of drug use treatment for adults. We are opening a new dual diagnosis program and looking for a Full Time - Physician Asssitant. The schedule can be flexible within a 5 day a week commitment. Overview: The Physician Assistant is responsible for the provision of medical services to patients. Responsible for conducting assigned aspects of the medical care of patients as allowed by state license guidelines. Responsibilities include medical management of patients at all levels of care provided by the clinic. Provide healthcare services typically performed by a physician under the supervision of a physician. Conduct complete physicals and provides necessary education, referral and follow-up services to patients. May, in some cases, prescribe medication as allowed by state regulation. Responsibilities * Makes a comprehensive physical assessment of patients consistent with training and education; * Performs physical examinations on patients admitted for medication maintenance; * Ensures physician medication orders are being followed. Refers patients to appropriate physicians and consults with the supervising physician; * Evaluates patient care, adjusting the plan of care based on outcomes, diagnostic test results, and patient feedback; * Provides patient and staff education on medication maintenance; * Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations, CARF Standards, and clinic policy and procedure; * Maintains and expands knowledge base in accordance with the requirements necessary to maintain professional certification as a Physician Assistant; and, * Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Graduate of Physician Assistant program from an accredited college or university * Previous experience in a substance abuse treatment clinic preferred * No history of alcohol or drug misuse for a period of three years before employment Licenses/Certifications: * Board certified Physician Assisant. * Licensed Physician Assistant able to practice in state where the clinic operates. * DEA license.
