The Director of Nursing is a full-time employee and is directly responsible for the supervision of clinical services of the PPEC. The Director of Nursing utilizes the nursing process to provide for continuity of nursing care. She/he supervises and coordinates the childrens needs based on assessment data and implements a plan for optimum quality of care. The Director of Nursing demonstrates the core nursing competencies established by Advanced Care Pediatrics to ensure effective and efficient care on an ongoing basis. She/he is responsible for maintaining compliance with all Federal and State regulations and ensures compliance with the companys policies and procedures. The Director of Nursing is available on the premises of the Center during the hours when services are being provided.

Position Details:

Enforces and demonstrates compliance with all State and Federal regulations, Medicaid Regulations, and Advanced Care Pediatrics policies and procedures.
Organizes and directs the clinical operations of the Center.
Directs the provision and quality of nursing services provided to individuals.
Supervises all nursing staff and unlicensed assistive personnel.
Maintains contact with the individuals primary health care provider at least every 90 days and more often, as needed, and shall document the contact in the individuals medical record.
Shall initiate the individuals Plan of Care and Re-certification process.
Ensures the individuals Plan of Care is executed as written by the physician.
Ensures timely and accurate documentation in the individuals medical record.
Ensures coordination of care and services among multi-disciplinary team members and physicians.
Shall develop, coordinate, and implement written goals and objectives, standards of practice, policies, and procedures, and an organizational plan for the nursing service and shall address at the minimum:
The assessment of the individuals health service needs.
Ongoing observation and monitoring of the individuals condition.
Notification of the Administrator if there is a significant change in the individuals health status
The assessment and implementation of the individuals need for referral to the individual's primary health care provider and/or specialist.
The maintenance of records as per Advanced Care Pediatrics.
Enforces and demonstrates compliance with all State and Federal regulations, Medicaid Regulations, and Advanced Care Pediatrics policies and procedures.
Assists Administrator with:
Staff development, in-services, and continuing education.
Staff performance review.
Progressive discipline and counseling of Center staff.
Compliance and participation in continuous quality improvement and utilization review.
Appropriate daily Center staffing with an adequate number of qualified personnel and/or independent contractors to meet state-specific guidelines.
Other duties as assigned by the Center Administrator.

The Director of Nursing shall be a registered professional nurse and have the following qualifications:

Hold a current Florida registered nurse license.
Hold a current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
Have a minimum of two years of general pediatric nursing experience of which at least six months shall have been spent caring for medically fragile infants or children in pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, PPEC, or similar care setting during the past five years.
Evidence of negative TB skin test or chest x-ray.
Satisfactory criminal background check.
Nursing supervision and/or administration experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have transportation to arrive on time at to center.
Ability to stand, lift, or assist in lifting the patient for feeding, changing, bathing, andemergency response.
Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, squat, and generally demonstrate flexibility to meet the care needs of the patient.
Must be able to see visually and listen with hearing acuity to appropriately monitor the patient and associated medical equipment.
Must have strength and manual dexterity, including grasping and manipulating small objects, to operate medical equipment appropriately.
Must be able to respond in emergencies to keep.
