Job Title: Administrative Assistant I

We are seeking a highly organized and safety-conscious Operations Administrative Assistant to support the daily activities of the Operations Office at a copper mining site. The role provides administrative, reporting, and coordination support to operations, maintenance, and site management teams, helping ensure efficient, compliant, and safe mine operations.

Starting Compensation: $18+/hr (Pay is commensurate with experience)

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and site leadership team
  • Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly operations reports (production, downtime, manpower, safety)
  • Maintain accurate records for shift rosters, attendance, leave, and overtime
  • Schedule meetings, toolbox talks, and site briefings; prepare agendas and minutes
  • Manage documentation related to mine operations, maintenance, and safety systems
  • Assist with procurement paperwork, work orders, and contractor documentation
  • Track and file safety, environmental, and compliance records in line with mine regulations
  • Coordinate travel, accommodation, and site access for staff and contractors
  • Manage office supplies and ensure smooth operation of the site admin office
  • Act as a communication link between operations, maintenance, HSE, and head office

Requirements & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in administration or business is an advantage
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably in mining, heavy industry, or industrial operations
  • Strong computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook; experience with ERP or CMMS systems is a plus)
  • Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact with site personnel and contractors
  • High attention to detail and respect for confidentiality

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working on a mine site or remote operations environment
  • Familiarity with safety systems, permit-to-work processes, or incident reporting
  • Exposure to production or maintenance reporting
  • Understanding of mining operations terminology

Work Environment

  • Site-based role at a copper mine
  • May involve shift work or rostered schedules
  • Requires compliance with all site safety and induction requirements
