Key Responsibilities
- Perform manhole rehabilitation tasks including sealing, coating, lining, patching, and structural repairs.
- Install new manholes, frames, covers, and associated utility components according to engineering specifications.
- Conduct inspections to identify defects such as infiltration, corrosion, cracking, or structural deterioration.
- Prepare job sites by setting up traffic control, excavation areas, and safety barriers.
- Operate equipment such as concrete saws, jackhammers, mixers, pumps, and confined space ventilation systems.
- Mix and apply rehabilitation materials (cementitious products, epoxy coatings, grout, etc.)
- Complete confined space entry procedures and maintain compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
- Document work performed, materials used, and site conditions using digital or written logs.
- Collaborate with crew members, supervisors, and inspectors to ensure quality and timely project completion.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and vehicles in clean and safe working condition.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in underground utilities, concrete work, sewer systems, or related construction trades.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting, bending, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
- Knowledge of manhole rehabilitation methods (cementitious lining, epoxy coating, chimney seals, grout injection, etc.) is a plus.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards, confined space entry, and PPE requirements.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in extreme heat and outdoor conditions common to Phoenix.
- Strong teamwork, communication, and problem solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications such as Confined Space Entry, OSHA 10/30, or NASSCO PACP/MACP.
- Experience with trenchless technologies or sewer rehabilitation systems.
- CDL (Commercial Driver's License) is a plus.
- Outdoor job sites across the Phoenix metro area.
- Exposure to heat, dust, traffic, and underground environments.
- Rotating shifts, overtime, and occasional weekend work depending on project needs.
