Responsibilities * Designs, configures, tests, implements and maintains telecommunications capabilities, including wide area and local area networks. Performs operations and support activities.
* Assists applications programmers working in the telecommunications environment. * Evaluates network changes for operational impact. * Evaluates network performance and resolves network and processor problems. * Familiar with hardware and software diagnostic tools.
* Primary escalation point technology issues that are unable to be resolved by Tier-1 and Tier-2 support staff.
* Responsible for advanced troubleshooting of supported services.
* Provide training to Tier-1 and Tier-2 Support Technicians.
* Perform daily shift-driven tasks assigned by the Technology Lead.
* Troubleshooting and configuration of customer issues.
* Database administration and development.
* Performing server repairs.
* Problem solving involving network and infrastructure.
* Maintaining Cloud centric updates.
* Developing and deploying customer approved solutions to new problems. Qualifications * 5+ years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Higher education and/or experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Knowledge of a wide range of computer systems software, applications, hardware, networking, and communications.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* All the qualifications of Tier 1 and 2.
* Active Secret Clearance.
* Knowledge in networking: standard internet protocols and ports, network monitoring and analysis tools, configuration of network devices (switches, routers, firewalls).
* Knowledge of Linux: system and network configuration, software installation, troubleshooting, bash scripting, etc.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows: system and network configuration, registry, software installation, troubleshooting, scripting, Active Directory, etc.
* Good understanding of: DNS, Web proxies, Email servers, mail protocols, Web categorization, Web protocols, Anti-Spam and Anti-Malware solutions.
* High motivation for innovation and ability to explore and drive new ideas and technologies, think and learn independently.
* 3+ years of experience in tech support.
* Experience with virtualization infrastructure, private and public: VMWare, Hyper-V, AWS, Azure, or Rackspace - advantage.
* Programming or scripting experience - advantage.
* Associate's degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
