Akima, LLC is seeking a Finance Manager to join our growing and dynamic organization. In this role, you will be a financial business partner with Program Operations, responsible for financial planning, analysis, and reporting, supporting one or more subsidiaries within the Emerging Markets Group of Akima, LLC. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Finance and will interface with the Group President, subsidiary general managers, corporate FP&A, corporate accounting, project controls, contracts & procurement, human resources, and the corporate government compliance team. Responsibilities * Financial Planning & Analysis:
* * Prepares and distributes periodic, quarterly, and annual financial statements and performance metrics with variance reporting to subsidiary managers. Reports will include revenue, direct cost, indirect cost, company & group income, labor utilization, indirect rates, days sales outstanding, and other appropriate variances to budgets and forecasts.
* Works with subsidiary managers and corporate staff to develop necessary data for key performance indicators to monitor progress, performance trends, and early warning indicators.
* Works with subsidiary general managers and operations directors to prepare annual operating budget.
* In collaboration with subsidiary general managers, operations directors, and project controls, provide updated monthly program financial forecasts.
* Assists Sr. Director Finance in the preparation of the Quarterly Business Reviews.
* Assists subsidiary managers with maintaining rate pool integrity and managing actual rates to provisional and billing rates.
* Assists with resolution of financial management issues arising in subsidiaries.
* Accounting and Project Control Support: * Provides direction and ground rules to project control staff related to budgeting and forecasting, and the monthly close process (accruals, revenue adjustments, etc.).
* Ensures subsidiary readiness for periodic, quarterly, and year-end closes (EACs complete, accrual submissions complete, costs and revenues properly recognized, management sign-off, etc.), and participates in pre-close revenue and profit review with project control and accounting staff.
* Reviews Project Set-up Forms for logic and make change recommendations where applicable.
* Reviews revenue recognition method selected as part of job set-up in Deltek Costpoint.
* Reviews and approves quarterly unbilled receivable reconciliations.
* Compliance & Audit Support: * Works with the Akima, LLC Compliance team to develop compliant and defensible indirect rates for the assigned subsidiaries.
* Supports the Compliance team with responses to DCAA.
* Supports the Corporate Accounting staff on audit inquiries.
* Other: * Tracks subsidiary A/R Aging and DSO and provide recommendations to subsidiary managers for improvements.
* Assists in the preparation and review of cost / price proposal efforts.
* Prepares ad hoc analyses related to sales by contract type, market area, and customer; contract wins and losses; and business development pipeline.
* Other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Bachelor's degree in finance/accounting or related field of study. CPA preferred.
* 5-7 years of professional experience in a financial and/or accounting management role, preferably within the Federal Contracting sector.
* Advanced level MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access) skills required.
* Experience with Deltek Costpoint (project/account/org structures, cost and burden process, revenue recognition formulas, inquiries, and reports) and COGNOS Analytics application.
* Experience supporting programs and/or projects (singular or combined) more than $100 million in annual revenue.
* Experience with various government contract types includes Time & Material (T&M), Firm Fixed Price (FFP) and Cost Reimbursable (CR) and Cost Plus (CPFF).
* Working knowledge of indirect rates, rate pools, and allocations.
* Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR).
* Strong business acumen coupled with financial prudence.
* Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain professional and effective relationships with internal customers, management, and professionals in your organization.
* Ability to work under pressure, prioritize and self-manage a multi-tasked workload in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines in fast paced & challenging environment.
