International Protective Service, Inc., an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring an Armed Security Officer. The Armed Security Officer is responsible for the safety and security of the facilities they protect. Our Armed Security Officers allow us to accomplish our company's core purpose which is “to service, secure and care for the people and businesses in our communities." Armed Security Officers act as a visible deterrent to crime and client rule infractions; they detect and report suspicious, unsafe or criminal acts at or near their assigned posts which may be a threat to the property, clients, guests or employees at the site.

 

 

Pays $24.00 per hour

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD POSSESS (NICE TO HAVE):

  • Associate's degree or higher in Criminal Justice or protective service related field
  • Law enforcement experience
  • Military experience
  • Three (3) or more years of experience as an armed security professional
  • Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with all levels of personnel and the general public in a professional and effective manner
  • The ability to handle crisis situations at the client site, calmly and efficiently

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

  • Prior security or related protective service experience
  • Able to complete all range qualifications and functions
  • Minimum of 21 years of age (or higher if required by the state)
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
  • As a condition of employment, an employee must successfully complete a background investigation and a drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws
  • Excellent communication skills; able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports
  • Able to:
    • Work in various environments such as cold weather, rain/snow, or heat
    • Occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds
    • Climb stairs, ramps, or ladders occasionally during shift
    • Stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods of time

 

This role is a driving position.

To qualify to operate a company or customer-owned vehicle, candidates must possess:

    • A valid Driver's License
    • At least one year of driving experience
    • A clean driving record (no major violations within last 36 months, no more than 1 accident in last 24 months, no more than one minor moving violation in last 24 months)
    • A minimum level of insurance as required by Company policy, and the ability to safely operate a vehicle required.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
  • Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
  • Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
  • Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons.
  • Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate; escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
  • Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication; interact with client and/or other security personnel regarding order execution when appropriate
  • Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary
