Location: Hybrid (One in-office day at Redstone Arsenal, four telework days per week) Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required Job Overview: AltView Analytics is seeking a highly skilled Financial Business Analyst with strong critical thinking skills to support Department of Defense (DoD) clients by providing advanced data analytics, business intelligence, and financial reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with financial systems, including GFEBS (General Fund Enterprise Business System), and will be proficient in Power BI and pivot table analysis. This role focuses on delivering automated reporting solutions and ad-hoc financial analysis that drives decision-making for military budget execution and other financial operations. This hybrid position requires at least one in-office day per week at Redstone Arsenal, with four days remote. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, using your analytical and critical thinking abilities to deliver actionable insights, ensuring that financial data supports customer needs effectively and efficiently. Key Responsibilities: • Budget Execution & Reporting: Develop and deliver budget execution executive summaries, automated slide decks for staff call reporting, and ad-hoc financial reports based on customer requirements. • Financial Data Analysis: Extract, manipulate, and analyze financial data from GFEBS and other systems to provide comprehensive insights. • Business Intelligence: Design, develop, and maintain customized Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to military financial systems (GFEBS) and client needs. • Compliance & Review: Ensure compliance with DoD financial processes by reviewing accounting lines, recommending corrective actions where necessary. • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Leverage critical thinking to analyze complex data sets, identify trends, anticipate challenges, and recommend data-driven solutions. • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide insights into financial data and budgetary processes. • Data Management: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of financial data across reporting platforms. • Stakeholder Support & Training: Provide training and guidance on Power BI, pivot tables, GFEBS, and financial data interpretation to ensure stakeholders can make informed decisions. • Process Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of business processes, workflows, and best practices for seamless project execution and continuity. Required Qualifications: • Financial Analysis Experience: At least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, particularly within military systems. • Power BI & Pivot Table Expertise: Strong command of Power BI for dashboard/report creation and pivot table analysis. • GFEBS Knowledge: Familiarity with GFEBS data structures and reporting functionalities is a major advantage. • Critical Thinking: Proven ability to use critical thinking to address complex financial issues, analyze data, and provide actionable insights. • Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical field or related discipline. • Secret Clearance: Active Secret Clearance is required. • Analytical Expertise: Proven ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations. • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to present complex financial data and analysis in a clear, effective manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with GFEBS: Direct experience working with GFEBS is a significant plus. • DoD Financial Systems: Prior experience as a Budget Analyst or Financial Analyst in a DoD or federal government environment. • Microsoft Power Platform: Familiarity with Power Automate and Power Apps for process automation. • Project Management: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
