Amentum is seeking a QA/Surveillance Representative to be based in our Aiken, SC location. This position will perform general duties as a Quality Assurance including interpretation of Site, National, and DOE requirements and site procedures, and representing organization with customer and others on QA programmatic matters. Develop and support training required to implement procedures and serve as QA Training Program Subject Matter Expert. Responsibilities: •Develop, document and communicate the planning of QA support functions through the project life cycle, including estimating resources necessary to provide QA support functions from conceptual design through turnover to operations. •Coordinate internal and external assessments, evaluations, audits and surveillances. Plan, prepare, conduct and report on monitoring of quality-related activities in assigned areas. •Incorporate conventional QA engineering or scientific practices and a variety of complex features such as enhanced quality requirements, application of new or special requirements or processes, and difficult coordination of oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning. Provide limited guidance and direction to less experienced QA and technical personnel. •Carry out development of qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases such as design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future quality problems. Develop alternative solutions to existing problems. Perform all detail work necessary to determine best alternatives. •Support facility/project needs within assigned area by conducting reviews/ approvals in the areas such as procedures procurement documents, design output documents, etc. Review of selected safety related engineering deliverables (e.g., Design Change Forms, Design Change Packages, Technical and procurement specifications, Supplier Deviation Disposition Requests, Quality Assessment Reports, Conceptual Design Reports, and Software Quality Assurance Plans). •Coordinate corrective action responses to external assessments, audits or surveillances. •Review, issue, track, follow-up and closeout various deficiency documents (e.g., Program Deficiency Reports, Non-conformance Reports, Corrective Action Reports and Stop Work Orders.) •Develop approaches for incorporating QA process improvements into procedures through coordination with other affected organizations, and assess implementation for project execution and deliverables. •Provide QA guidance, compliance oversight and subject matter expertise for Integrated Safety Management, and QA feedback and improvement processes. •Some business travel will be required. •May perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Candidates must have at least 12 years of experience working in quality control and inspection in a fabrication shop environment, with most of that experience being in the nuclear industry or Department of Energy facilities. This full-time position is for daily quality oversight support in a vendor shop in Columbia, SC, with the potential for overtime as the need arises. Mileage will be paid to and from the shop on a daily basis if the individual lives more than 50 miles from the shop. Other Travel and per diem reimbursement is not available for this position. Expertise in the following areas is required: Quality Control - Visual Inspections, material control, procurement, commercial grade dedication Current Non-Destructive Examination Certification in the following: Radiographic Testing and Film Interpretation General computer skills for preparing documents and use of spreadsheets for compiling and analyzing data Knowledge in the theory and application of assessment and audit techniques and practices and NQA-1 Program implementation Due to the nature of work, the candidate must be a US Citizen. Expertise in the following areas is preferred: Quality Assurance - surveillance and audits Current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Current Non-Destructive Examination Certifications in one or more of the following: Liquid Penetrant Testing Mag-Particle Testing Ultrasonic Testing Conventional •Strong written and oral communication, teamwork, and vendor interface coordination skills. •Knowledge of engineering design, maintenance management, construction, project management, QA, manufacturing techniques, procurement processes, and industrial safety and hygiene. •Experience in commercial nuclear power QA or Department of Energy nuclear facility QA •Current NQA-1 auditor or lead auditor qualifications •General math knowledge (e.g., statistics, algebra, geometry) to complement field experience, •Current ASNT NDE certifications, ANSI QC Certifications Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
