  • A Tooling Engineer is responsible for the design and specification support of tooling for aircraft.  This job entails authoring and revision control of engineering specifications, and creation of maintenance requirements and programs for that equipment.   This posting is primarily for tooling in the Line Maintenance realm, but responsibilities will often cross over into Test Equipment, and Base Maintenance Tooling areas.

What you'll do

Engineer L2

  • Support of aircraft tooling, aircraft servicing equipment, aircraft handling equipment, and aircraft recovery equipment.
  • Collaboration and interface with Test Equipment Engineers and Base Tooling Engineers.
  • Working with Ground Support Engineering, and other support Departments across the airline spectrum.
  • Extensive work with Aircraft and Power Plant Engineers.
  • Cooperation and Controls related to manufacturers and suppliers of aircraft tooling equipment.
  • Occasional design of tooling that does not already exist.
  • Real-Time Support of the airline when expertise is required.

Engineer L3
Please see Engineer L2 essential job functions. This position additionally performs the following:

  • Coordinates with manufacturers and regulatory authorities, as required, and ensures that Engineering dispositions are properly substantiated in accordance with applicable regulations and Company manuals
  • Develops customized procedures and special criteria for repairs, modifications, inspections, servicing and other maintenance actions which are not adequately addressed in existing manuals
  • Strives to improve communications skills, time management and other personal qualities pertinent to maximum effectiveness and efficiency in performing assigned duties

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ?Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
  • 2 years of related experience

 

Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience

  • ?3-6 years experience as an engineer with aircraft systems or related experience
  • Experience authoring, revising, and creating Engineering Orders (EOs), Maintenance Evaluation Team (MET) Projects, and Engineering Authorizations (EAs)
  • Knowledge of CFRs, maintenance programs, WDM, AMM, IPC, TSM and CMM

 

Skills, Licenses & Certifications

  • ?Knowledge of Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Excellent analytical, technical writing, problem solving, communication, planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Must be self-motivated and disciplined in their work ethics
  • Basic computer programming
