We are currently seeking a Calibration Lab Manager to join our KSS team in Wheeling, WV.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Management of calibration staff to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Setting goals and vision for growth of the calibration lab's future competencies.
  • Conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Staff Scheduling & PTO management.

Management of the Calibration Laboratory and processes to include, but not limited to the following:

  • Managing revenue and costs.
  • Scheduling of production and workflow management.
  • Writing ISO/IEC 17025 calibration work instructions.
  • Constructing and maintaining ISO/IEC 17025 measurement uncertainty budgets.
  • Management of the Calibration Lab's annual Proficiency Testing as required per ISO/IEC 17025.
  • Respond to Continuous Improvements / Opportunities for Improvements related to the Calibration Lab appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the Calibration Lab in a constant state of readiness for internal and external audits.
  • Contribute and participate in Annual Internal Audits, act as Calibration Lab Liaison during external audits.
  • Onsite audits of ongoing field calibration jobs.
  • Contribute and participate in Annual Management Reviews for the Wheeling Branch.
  • Quality Control review of calibration reports generated from the calibration's laboratory management system or LMS (CRS).

Sales & Marketing Responsibilities

  • Strong interpersonal & presentation skills to build rapport & loyalty with existing and new customers.
  • Field visits with customers for quoting jobs.
  • Visits to prospective new customers.
  • Researching potential areas for new customers.
  • Memberships & Participation in industry professional organizations.

Education & Qualification Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Certifications and/or Coursework in Metrology, Sciences, and/or Math.
  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Strong math and science aptitude.
  • Intermediate to advance proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Think outside-the-box to design calibration solutions for unique devices.
  • Clean driving record
  • Pass drug test
  • Submit to a background check

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time position in an office and lab environment; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear, use hands to finger, grasp, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls. The employee is occasionally required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach with hands and arms, walk; lift push or pull objects up to 20 pounds. Hand-eye coordination necessary to operate computers and various pieces of office equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
