In this vital role the Director, Media and Campaign Analytics, within Commercial Decision Sciences, will be accountable for comprehensive measurement of Amgen’s media marketing portfolio. As the Director of Media and Campaign Analytics, this person will play a pivotal role in ensuring analytical thoroughness against our media strategy, planning, and optimization efforts.This role requires a combination of media and therapeutic area knowledge, analytical acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and a proactive approach to ensure that our media initiatives align with our brand objectives and deliver optimal results. They must be a strong voice in executive meetings with an ability to present complex analytical insights and recommendations in a concise and clear manner and push the stakeholders in taking actions.This leader will help refine our media strategies, optimize audience targeting, and pressure test agency recommendations from an analytical standpoint leveraging inputs from cross functional teams.They will create a roadmap for Amgen’s current measurement capabilities across the short, mid, and long-term horizons, standing up new capabilities, attracting talent, driving innovation, and scaling standard methodologies across Therapeutic Areas (TAs).Flexible Commuter role to Thousand Oaks, CA office. You will work on-site 3 days a week.Campaign, Audience, Creative, and Competitive Analysis:Lead paid/organic media, Web & targeted HCP analytics.Use audience segmentation techniques and data analysis to identify and target relevant audiences for pharmaceutical products, including deeper understanding of creatives.Develop audience personas and profiles based on demographic, psychographic, and behavioral data.Collaborate with brand teams to align audience targeting strategies with brand positioning and messaging.Understand and connect secondary data sources knowledge (TRx, NBRx, copay etc,) with media data (exposures, clicks, T1A).Agency Oversight:Evaluate agency recommendations and proposals to ensure alignment with brand media goals and objectives.Proactively find opportunities to improve agency partnerships and drive performance improvements.Provide guidance and feedback to agencies based on data-driven insights to optimize media plans and strategies.Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with internal media teams, brand teams, and external agencies to align media strategies with overall business objectives.Collaborate with cross-functional collaborators to integrate analytics-driven insights into media planning and decision-making processes.Facilitate communication and knowledge sharing between different teams to champion a data-driven media culture.Collaborate with portfolio measurement and reporting teams to strategize and communicate recommendations on shifting investments.Media Expertise:Demonstrate expertise in media measurement methodologies across various channels, including TV, digital, print, and SEO.Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in media measurement and analytics to inform strategy development.Use knowledge to assess the effectiveness of media channels and make data-driven recommendations for optimization.Team Leader:Recruit, mentor, and develop a team of media analytics experts (including onshore/offshore vendor support), encouraging a culture of excellence and continuous learning.Provide leadership within the data and analytics functions, driving innovation and standard processes in media measurement and optimization.WinWhat we expect of youWe are all different, yet we all use our unique contributions to serve patients. The professional we seek is a leader with these qualifications.Basic Qualifications:Doctorate degree and 4 years of analytics, operations or pharma experienceORMaster’s degree and 8 years of analytics, operations or pharma experienceORBachelor’s degree and 10 years of analytics, operations or pharma experienceIn addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced abovePreferred Qualifications:Experience working across marketing strategy & delivery, with an understanding of media promotional strategy and execution to both healthcare professionals and consumers.Ability to influence without authority & communication skills through a collaborative approach as this individual will be encouraged to quickly build rapport and credibility at all levels throughout the organization.Ability to navigate ambiguity, develop frameworks and distill complex information into concise and impactful messages/presentations.Deep knowledge of media measurement approaches and enabling technology.Prior media agency experience preferred.Experience supporting campaign design with analytics like A/B Testing, Attribution Modeling.Ability to translate business goals into measurement strategy and support timely measurement, and optimization of campaigns.Working knowledge of end-to-end campaign planning processes, working knowledge of marketing platforms and technology, and ability to lead cross-functional partners to craft and execute on large scale strategies.Focus on teamwork, relationship-building and influencing others with outstanding ability to co-create and work collectively with various business leaders and cross-functional key partners.ThriveWhat you can expect of usAs we work to develop treatments that take care of others, we also work to care for our teammates’ professional and personal growth and well-being.The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted.
