Ideal candidates will apply their skills and creativity to solve complex optimization problems across performance and power, develop evaluation methodologies, and communicate closely with our circuit design microarchitects. What you’ll achieve: Model and evaluate server class microprocessor components such as fabrics, memory technologies, and AI accelerated compute cores.Understand the problem domain of cutting-edge AI and how it manifests in advanced hardware systems.Devise methodologies for constructing and evaluating accelerator workloads, in collaboration with our software team.Work with circuit design microarchitects to provide and collect data to guide the development of next generation CPU and accelerator products.Balance features, performance, power, and costs to create a solution with high value and optimal use of development and physical resources.Drive performance correlation of models using post-silicon measurement data or pre-silicon simulation results.Create and maintain technical documents including architecture specifications, implementation guides, and user guides.Mentor junior (and senior!) architects with your domain expertise. Ampere is built on a culture of learning.About you: BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 12 years of experience; or MS degree and 8 years of experience; or PhD degree and 5 years of experienceExperience with the modeling of microprocessor sub-systems, and of the strengths and weaknesses of these techniquesCan develop and test software in a collaborative environmentSkilled in C++ and PythonKnowledge of hardware/software interaction (OS, firmware, assembly, CUDA, etc.) a definite plus Comfortable with statistical analysis; and the processing and clear presentation of dataAbility to learn and grow, one of the foundational principles of AmpereGreat communication skills, comfortable with reaching out and asking questions. The full base pay range for this role is between $163,100 and $271,900, except in the San Francisco Bay Area where the range is between $171,800 and $286,300.
